Billy Sharp

Billy Sharp joined the Iron from Sheffield United in August 2005 for a fee of £100,000Sharp proved himself whilst on loan at Rushden when he scored nine goals in 16 matches. He made a fantastic debut which he scored the only goal in against Nottingham Forest. Since then he has become Scunthorpe's top scorer so far this season and has formed a deadly partnership with Irishman Andy Keogh. Billy has netted a variety of goals and works incredibly hard to prove there is more to his game than just being a poacher. Sharp finished his first campaign at United with 24 goals (23 in the league) and was rewarded for an excellent season with selection in the PFA League One Team of the Year for 2005/06.
